Rotary Way is a tarred scenic route ascending into the mountains above Hermanus, ending at a lookout with sweeping 360° views. It’s the town’s highest vantage point, offering dramatic panoramas of Walker Bay, fynbos-clad ridges, and distant valleys.
Accessible by car, bicycle, or foot, the road climbs 188 m and weaves through indigenous fynbos. At the summit, benches and parking spaces offer a perfect spot for whale watching (June–November), astronomy, photography, or a peaceful picnic. For riders, the route forms part of popular MTB and trail run circuits.
